Route 66 Influences Tasha Polizzi's 2014 Spring Collections

August, 2013 - Great Barrington, MA - Familiar memories of America's most beloved highway, Route 66, influence these collections, taking us on a cross-country tour from our solid Heartland to the promise of the Golden West. These are clothes inspired by women who looked you straight in the eye, women who were not afraid to take chances and women who refused to live with too many regrets! This is Tasha's toast to life along Route 66, a celebration of the highway that looped together this giant patchwork we call "America" and a tribute to the remarkable personal journeys made along Route 66, as our people drove across the nation, in search of something "other".

"American Girl Collection"

Be of the people. Tasha Polizzi is proud of America's heritage, the strength and resilience of its people and their collective energy and ingenuity that continue to inspire the world.

The rich history of our nation is expressed in three simple shades, Red, White and Blue. Our national colors inspired Tasha Polizzi to create the "American Girl Collection". Shades of soft blues and reds define the moment. The colors unite in two spectacular cotton knits... stars and stripes in a cardigan or a blanket patterned shawl, to layer over fashionable western shirts in ginghams, updated with novelty cowboy prints at the cuffs and collars. Just for fun...that same cowboy print stands alone in our favorite Four Corners Tunic Top, available this season in Indigo or Crimson. The stand out accessory is the Tribal Necklace, to layer over anything. A vintage inspired red, white and blue plaid rounds out the pattern choice for shirts. And, back by popular demand, the Indigo Settler Shirt...a Tasha Polizzi staple. White stars float across soft blue Georgette on the Betsy Blouse and Star Spangled Skirt. The Love Shirt is another blue ribbon winner, a flattering Fair Grounds Skirt in the same perfect white might be paired with a favorite straw hat for a perfect summer outing.

The blanket patterned American Camp Jacket is the essential light summer outer-layer. Just in case, a fun Old Glory Tee and sequined Broadway Jacket, sure to be the envy of all your fellow Glampers!

The American Girl Collection...styles to celebrate the way we live!

January 2013

Great Barrington, MA - Almost 25 years ago, Tasha and Jack Polizzi opened the TP Saddleblanket Store on Main Street in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. It was here that Tasha first showcased her designs; fun jean jackets, western shirts with pearl snaps, Native American inspired blanket coats, plaid jackets and vintage cowboy boots; comfortable clothes, we all continue to cherish. These familiar fashions have evolved each season to become the iconic, collectible designs that continue to anchor Tasha's collections. This year, Tasha celebrates Mexican American Folk Art with a stunning, "limited edition", hand painted, Mariachi Skirt as she continues to remain true to her enduring love and respect for Native American and American Folk Art designs, with rich blanket patterns, vintage plaids and exquisite embroideries.

Beautiful and Bright -Tasha Polizzi opens Fall 2013 with The "Sedona Desert" Collection. Serape Stripes in sheer Georgette fabrics, floral embroideries, lace trimmed cowgirl shirts and flouncy skirts evoke lovely sunsets and the dusky mountain hues of the autumn desert. Cooler nights demand warmer wraps, none better than the cotton knit Sagebrush Shawl and Cardigan, fun fringe on the pair. In the same signature fabric, the sophisticated Sautillo Dress to layer under one of the stunning, vintage inspired Loretto Cardigans trimmed with beautiful sequins and beads. More embroideries and beads, the stunning Lou Lou Belle and Darlin Nellie shirts in Cilantro, Earth or Adobe are certain winners this season. Tasha updates her signature serapes and plaids with the Saguaro Shirt, Pima Shirt and Tall Grass Shirt, each featuring modern, fun details on vintage inspired cottons.

Celebrating Our Iconic Luxe Vest - the Luxe Vest stands front and center along with the luxurious Chateau Coat, and two smart, delightful jackets, the Anorak and Nashville, in five fabulous colors: Cilantro, Clay, Taos Blue, Faun and Purple Mountain. Luxurious, fun, colorful... Tasha Polizzi essentials!

The fleecy Big Blanket Coat sports a retro wrap big collar, the Canyon Lands Jacket a faux suede trim while the one size Pecos Cape is piped in faux suede. Three interpretations in a beautiful Adobe colored Pecos Blanket pattern.

The "Mountain Majesty" collection brings more rich autumn hues into the picture. Red Rock Cotton Serape, this season featured in the traditional Colt 44 cowgirl shirt and the ruffled front, Gonzales Skirt to wear with the studded denim Joan Jet Shirt in Indigo. More cotton knits to layer as the days grow shorter, the Hippie Sweater and Dazzler Skirt in shades of chocolate, teal or red and another Loretto Cardigan in brown to mix in. The Warrior Shirt in Dazzler Blanket brushed cotton and the fun "Rodeo Print", Four Corners Tunic come into play in the same warm colors.

The next group elevates "stepping out in style" to a fine art. Choose from a fringed Retro Cowboy Ranch Shirt, a lace paneled Madonna Shirt or a charming embroidered Emmylou Shirt in Black, Red or Turquoise to pair with the flouncy Sunset Skirt in black. The "crown jewel" in this collection is the Mariachi Skirt; two young lovers dance under the stars as the Mariachi's serenade them. This is a limited edition replica of a 1950's hand painted Mexican circle skirt. Exquisite!

Our favorite Buffalo Check this season is the ruffle front Patsy Shirt and Barn Dance Skirt in feather weight Georgette with a coordinating black tank to layer into the mix.

A New Concept, the Kiva Blanket Parka. A stunning blanket pattern, this time, printed on cotton for a perfect, "all season", coat. A New Silhouette, the Victoria Riding Jacket in glen plaid wool, trimmed in velvet with beautiful embroidery. A Brilliant Combination, the Siesta Jacket, with elements of both; glen plaid trimmed in Kiva Blanket cotton and velvet. Three outstanding pieces, any day of the week!

Tasha Polizzi blanket coats assemble in force this year in the Three Rivers Blanket pattern featured in shades named Ash, Faun or Earth, styled into Trenches, Vests and Jackets. The Bear Blanket Vest even reverses to a silky soft fur! So many choices... the long and short of it, we have you covered!
